hubby and i became proud owners of our EA yesterday morning! at the same time, we also considered sold ourselves to the HDB for 30yrs coz we had to loan $209k from them both our CPF accts are wiped out liao, left oni enough for 2nd loan repayment and HPS. we'd reach HDB at 8.15am though our appt was not until 9.10am. tis was to give us the extra time for buying Fire Insurance and having b'fast. MIL actually wanted to com along but changed her mind upon hearing dat we were going down to HDB so early in the morning. 8.15am early meh?

reached our block at 12pm with my mum, sis n nephew in tow! to make sure everything will be smooth sailing, my mum bought some prayer items so dat we can pray downstairs b4 going up to our unit. i also bought the barangs for cleaning up. having done with the prayers, we went to our unit. hubby had to spent a gd 5mins in order to get the main gate open, tink he tried all the 3keys available before he finally managed to pull it open. i muz make a note to inform the branch office abt it when i submit my defect lists. during tis time, i also found out dat both my neighbours (direct opp. n next door) have dogs. hope will not too noisy at nite in future.

when we got into our unit, first two things we did was to clear the living room of phamplets and take pictures. next was opening all the doors and windows to air the place. i can say the place is real real dusty lor. coz of the dust, we spent a good 3hrs sweeping and mopping it twice. one thing to mention, my unit was actually used as a sample unit during the Oct'05 WIS coz they left the labelling on the wall along with 2 barricades in household unit. they didn't even bother to clear it out when they came to hack and re-lay the flooring for the whole unit when the Nov'06 WIS was on!!! also left behind was an old jacket, floor tiles and cement. maybe can ask my ID to keep the floor tiles and cement for our reno just in case.

our ID came to take the actual measurement of our unit and helped to check for around for major defects. i realised dat my kitchen is 1ft shorter den wat it was in the floor plan!!! after going thru the whole place, i concluded dat my MBR is the smallest room and it has the most beams of all (all 4 walls!! ). after ID left, we started to check for other small defects. below-mentioned are some defects found.

Defects found
1. rusty taps (not one or two but all the taps in the unit!
2. common toilet - WC push button knob jammed
3. common toilet - WC must used lots of water to flush b4 the paper can go down (coz push button knob jammed, i used more den a pail of water)
4. MBR toilet - WC leaking
5. MBR toilet - lever for sink stopper was either spoilt or jammed. water can't flow down coz stopped can take out
6. balcony sliding track - lots of cement stain
7. balcony door - part of rubber gasket was missing
8. main door - lots of scratches, got deep ones too. chipped off at some areas
9. HDB contractor re-layed tiles but nv drill 3 holes for the bottom bolts of my main gate and door
