I was on leave today, so i went to my nest around 4plus. brought my LifeShop swinging chair for the carpenter to install for mi. when i reached the void deck, i realised dat i left the Ikea rack at home. told ID abt it and he said can get plumber to install the rack below the sink for mi on 01-May. *phew*

when i reached my nest, saw 4 carpenters inside including their foreman. ID told mi to look for the foreman and tell him what i need to install, said it's the guy with the longest hair (he mean among the 4 carpenters). managed to find him without much difficulty, i tink he looked abit like He Jun Xiang fm a Taiwanese idol drama. he was beri kind to agree to my many requests.

my shoe cabinet, tv feature wall+console, study table+shelves+cabinet and MBR wardrobe is up liao. all the bedroom doors has been varnished and the kitchen cabinet doors and drawers also done. really glad to see how nice the reno is turning out.

it's the 2nd day of carpentry works. took 1/2 day leave today as the guy fm Hitachi Credit is coming to inspect our nest. hubby was on leave too as he had to go n pray to his grandma (it's the 3rd 7th day). was surprised to see my MIL n BIL there also. hmm, seeing her confirm means she'll have comments later. sure enough, she had something to say lor.. asked me to go to the common toilet with her, pointed out dat my UFO tap is nt practical coz sometimes people might not turn it off properly. again, she said i wasted $$ to change the sanitary ware. how many times she muz say tis huh, tink next time whenever she visit us, sure will bring it up again one lor. tink i will print a note "Pls remember to turn off the tap", laminate n paste near the tap. liddat can???

my MBR wardrobe is up liao, but hor tis means my MBR also getting smaller. looking at the remaining space, i tink after we put the queen size bed, oni ample walking space will be left. btw, our solid veneer door is here!! but i almost got a shock when i saw the colour, tot ID ordered wrong colour. later i found out dat the door has yet to be varnished. *phew* i'm too kan cheong liao HHS feature wall also up liao, but still in the raw state.

left my nest around 2.45pm and parted ways with my MIL and hubby as i wanted to visit Halifax Hardware to get the soft-close system for my kitchen drawers. took the LRT to Sengkang, den find a way there to AMK Ind Park 2. who koes hubby called n told mi he have asked MIL to go Halifax Hardware with me to help bargain to lower price. they took a cab n picked mi up at compasspoint taxi stand. sian lor, y muz ask MIL come along??? we reached Halifax abt 20mins later, saw the soft-close system which cost $35. MIL said it's expensive and dat it's not necessary. it's so much cheaper than Blum lor, still wan to complain expensive. called ID and asked his opinion, he said he already installed heavy duty hinges, so might not need the soft-close system. so end up i nv buy anything.

i've made up mind to tell my hubby not to ask my MIL along for anymore of our shopping trip. everything she also said expensive, how to buy things liddat???

reached home around 4pm. nua for an hour plus, den brought my mum n nephew to Ikea Tampines with mi. tis time with the intention of buying the extending drawers for my tall cabinet. checked with their SA who asked if my tall cabinet has been built. told her all done, juz waiting for the drawers oni. she said i should have bought the drawers first before the carpenter built the cabinet, else confirm wun fit. how i koe. called my ID and his carpenter, ding dong ding dong for awhile den decided not to get the Ikea extending drawers liao. the Ikea extending drawers cost abt $100 with the Blum system, the SA told mi they got Blum to do a cheaper version dat can hold up to 15-25kg. she opened up the thing n indeed the word Blum is printed on the back. getting 5 drawers mean paying abt $500 leh. the oni thing i got from Ikea was a rack to be installed in the cabinet, it's for puting detergents.

asked ID to get his carpenter to custom-made 5 pull-out drawers for my tall cabinet instead and muz give mi discount coz my budget was less than $500. ID asked mi my budget and i said no more than $500. he said the pull-drawers will definately be less than $400, then quoted mi $350 with Blum system for the tall cabinet door. i was happy with the price and told ID to proceed with the pull-out drawers.

Thanks Henry!!

the acid wash was done last sat. we are into the final stage of our reno liao, the carpentry works.

as usual, i went down to my nest after work. the carpenters are still at work although it was already 7pm. one was at the balcony, doing something to my wardrobe's drawers. two others was in bedroom 2, putting up the wardrobe.

they had already put up the kitchen cabinets together with the kitchen sink and hob. the hood and solid top will be put up later. MBR toilet vanity cabinet (short of solid top) and bedroom 3 wardrobe also done. cabinet and wardrobe doors and drawers not done yet.

the carpenters will be doing our tv feature wall+console and study cabinets+table tml. nt sure if they gonna do the HHS feature wall also. but the carpenter said by friday all carpentry work should be done. OMG, i haven buy the drawers for my tall cabinet leh. i still can't decide whether to get the drawers from Ikea or Halifax Hardware at AMK Ind Park II. i heard IKEA used BLUM whereas Halifax used Mepla-Alfit, another brand of soft-close system. haf decided to visit Halifax tml.

haf told ID to ask the aircon guy to come down again coz i want him to use the level-ruler measure the aircon let mi see. i dun believe it's aligned straight lor. tml the personnel fm Hitachi Credit also coming for inspection, if everything ok, they will release the payment to ID liao.

here's the picture of the carpentry works.

finally something got striked off from my wishlist. today my hubby went shopping with me at last, i brought to Raffles City coz i wanted to go The Lifeshop and show him the swinging chair dat i wanted to get earlier in Feb.

heng heng i nv 'cong dong' and got it earlier, coz today we saw there is a 15% discount for the swinging chair dancingqueen.gif usual price was $149, we paid $126.65. deal.gif tink my hubby was happy coz got discount, so he gave the green light to get it. tongue.gif now it's still in the plastic bag, hidden between our Sony LCD TV and Pioneer HTS. all these barangs currently stored in my room now. shall bring the swinging chair over to my nest next week and ask ID to get his workers to help me drill the ceiling to put the hook and chain on.

Wow, today already end of reno 3rd week aka day 19 liao... some of the jobs are behind schedule but it's ok... slow n steady = good quality workmanship!

our aluminium window grilles for the whole house are up, except for study room and service yard side window. saw 2pcs of window grille in my HHS, tink maybe the size is wrong so need to change.

also noticed today dat beside the balcony curtain track, still got a beri short track at the corner of the wall. looked so extra, dun tell mi the curtain guy did a beri short piece of curtain for there also *pengz*

the electrician came today to add an extra socket near the tv feature wall area coz we are putting the prayer altar there. he removed the socket added on the wall where we originally intended to put the prayer altar at, now got a white patch there at first tot wan to keep the socket since it's already done, but ID said it looked ugly sticking out of nowhere on the wall. our MBR SCV pt and socket was also shifted coz we tot we might wan to get a TV later on. we'll oni be changing our switches when the lightings are going to be done.

tml doing acid wash b4 carpentry starts on Wed.

was surprised to see dat the tracks for my balcony curtain and study room string curtain is up liao. tot it will oni be done towards the end of reno, which is in may. the "hook" (dunno the actually name) for the roller blinds are also done, except that i tink the one at my MBR not centralised. need to ask the curtain guy to come down n fix again.

my fancoils are wrapped up liao.. taking a 2nd look at the fancoil again, i confirm my bedroom 3 and MBR fancoils are slanted. shall bring the level ruler to measure myself tis sat, if confirm is slanted... i will tell ID to ask his aircon guy to re-do again. cannot accept 2nd grade work lor.

i find dat many of the pictures i taken got white dots one, this mean my digi-cam lens are beri dusty. time to clean the lens liao. btw, the workers left the windows WIDE OPEN again, tis time in my balcony. bottom.gif

today HB wants to check the reno progress, so i went with him. since reno started, i almost everyday report to my nest. sometimes abt sian coz of the travelling time but bo pian.

got a shocked when i see aircon fancoil already installed. our aircon trunking was already up last week, but the fancoil was oni supposed to be installed during the first week of May which is another 2 weeks lor. my HB had told ID b4 dat he wants to see the fancoil installation personally, so when he saw the fancoil juz now, he was furious furious.gif coz the reno progress is not according to the given schedule. we can accept reno progress slower than scheduled but not faster or jumped. moreover, HB hates it when the things are not according to the planned schedule.

den went common toilet and saw our new WC has been used by the workers (we nv say cannot use) andthey left it dirty with their BIG BUSINESS stucked on the side!! curse.gif should at least have the basic courtesy to clean it lor. the WC was installed oni last fri and i dun even haf the privilage to use it yet.

so after everything, we went downstairs whilst HB called ID to grumble. wink.gif

seeing the photos, i tink at the MBR and Bedroom 3 fancoil is slanted!

juz now went my nest with my hubby and brother-in-law after going Bright Hill Temple to pray to my dad. so surprised to see the plumbers (2 of them) working today coz it's sunday. so efficient!! my hubby brought those stretch wrap to wrap over the initial plastic cover of our UFO loveseat coz there are some holes liao. also need to wrap the 4 legs coz there isn't any plastic cover at all. we did this all bcoz we scare the paint will accidently drop onto the loveseat.

my mistral heaters has been installed in both common and MBR toilet. the round Bellari wall-mounted sink and UFO tap has also been installed. was wondering how come plumber did not change the 2-way taps in both toilets coz i remember placing orders for 2 nos. (even checked the original invoice i've brought along to confirm), so i went to check the many boxes of sanitary ware in my study room area. we practically opened every box but the 2 nos. of 2-way taps was not there. dun tell mi ID nv check the against the invoice when the delivery came. immediately called my ID even though it's Sunday and told him to double check the boxes again tml morning, if dun haf then he muz call Tapz Gallery and ask them to deliver it asap.

when we left, the bathroom accessories were not installed yet. should be all up by tml except the 2 missing nos. of 2-way tap.

so fast it's end of 2nd week reno, day 12 liao biggrin.gif took 1/2day leave today as Cellini will deliver my XL size UFO loveseat. also having the delivery of my common toilet sink+UFO tap from Bellari and Mistral heaters from Hom'Tech today. reached my nest around 3pm. the painters are here to paint the 1st coat of paint and my kitchen floor tiles are finally laid 100%.

yesterday Tapz Gallery delivered the sanitaryware and hood+hob. now there are a no. of ctns at my study room area (coz HHS storing the old WCs and sinks). the plumber had the new WCs installed in both toilets. didn't do the bathroom accessories though.

The lady from Cellini called mi yesterday informing dat the loveseat might not be able to go through my main door, ask if i can accept the loveseat in S size. bangwall.gif how can it be!!! i told her b4 i placed my order, i had confirmed with their sales executive Nicholas dat the XL size loveseat has no problem going into HDB flat. the lady then went on to said the loveseat confirm cannot fit into the lift, so muz carry up the stairs which means incurring extra cost but is alright. i even told her dat if muz bring up by stairs also nvm coz i oni staying on 3rd floor and my unit juz beside the staircase. but if cannot go thru my door will be a wasted trip. more $$ incurred cost the delivery guys muz bring the chair back to change. i went thru the dimension of the loveseat and found dat if the delivery guy turn the loveseat to the side, they'll have no problem moving the loveseat in. the lady gotta use some brains bottom.gif

the delivery guys from Cellini came around 4.30pm, the loveseat really can't fit into the lift so they asked mi how. wat how? juz bring up the stairs lor, i know it's heavy but the company should have sent an extra workers coz they already knew muz bring up by stairs!! AR15firing.gif i called Cellini to complain and the lady, Jasmine who answered the phone told mi need to pay $$ to the workers to bring up the loveseat, $10/per floor. so it'll cost $30 for my 3rd floor unit, if sway sway i stay 17th floor means i muz pay $170??? mad.gif yesterday i wasn't told dat these charges i muz bear lor, also not my fault the loveseat muz bring up by stairs mah. argue.gif i told Jasmine it'll not be fair for mi to pay the $30, ask Cellini to bear it but she said cannot... the most she can do is give mi FOC throw cushions to compensate mi for the $30 paid to the workers. wink.gif

so i bo pian paid the $30 to the workers and asked them to bring up my UFO loveseat. it's really BIG and ROUND!! length almost the same as a 3-seater sofa liao. i simply love it so much. wub.gif didn't open up the wrapping coz the workers will resume painting on Monday.

last to came, around 5.30pm and 5.45pm is my Bellari sink+tap and the mistral heaters. oh, the UFO tap is so NICE and heavy. juz realised i got 2 UFOs in my nest, a tap and a loveseat sport-smiley-004.gif
