My kitchen black solid top is giving me problem... either it's defective or the brand (tink is Lam Chuan) really CMI. bangwall.gif i haven even move into my nest, not said use the kitchen lor... we are oni at the cleaning and furnishing stage now. so solid top is oni used to put misc items like our rice container, slow cooker, table clock, etc.

Guess wat??? less than 24hrs of having tis items on the solid top, those spots where the items have been placed has a faded whitish patch. jawdrop.gif even if we use a wet cloth to wipe, the whitish patch is still there... cannot be removed!! i've kept the solid top dry at all times, wiping it whenever there is water. those items we've placed (whether in plastic bags or not) are all dry too. moreover, solid top is not supposed to absorb water though it is prone to scratches.

my MBR toilet also has a vanity solid top... haven placed anything on it so i'm not sure if it has the same problem.. tink i'll test n put something there for a few hours too. hopefully there wun be a faded whitish patch too.

haf already inform ID abt tis problem n he has told the carpenter or whoever can handle to come n polish our solid top tis sat. if polishing of even Pledge (a cleaning agent recommended by a fellow forumer) cannot solve the faded whitish patch, i'll want to change a new solid top liao. definately will not choose black colour again liao.

here's the pics of the solid top. with the items placed n after the items are removed.

the Panasonic 3-door fridge sponsored by my MIL was delivered on 19may, sat afternoon. according to my MIL, the delivery was supposed to be in the morning but the shop forgotten to schedule the delivery when she called to confirm a day b4. MIL sure was fluming mad when she heard tis (coz they kept on asking her when to deliver). so she told them die die also muz delivered on sat even if it means in the afternoon. tink she !@#$& them over the phone.

my hubby also collected on 16may, wed, the free Stylux electric warmer n cooler which was given to us by RHB Bank when we signed with them for our reno loan. no more blue colour liao, so hubby chose red colour. now it's sitting next to our Panasonic fridge. but i oni intend to use it as a warmer (but i feel like using it for my facial products wor).

we finally placed order for our washing machine today liao... went down with my hubby to Best Denki as Plaza Singapure after work last wed.

we were tinking of buying Toshiba DD Inverter washing machine, but after walking around.. we couldn't find it. so we checked with the salesman. he told us the Toshiba DD Inverter washing machine has been discontinued. jawdrop.gif asked him y n he said most prob due to the cost and not really dat energy saving (also used 500W which is same as normal washing machine).

so the salesman recommended Fisher & Paykel to us, it's also using DD (direct drive motor) and uses on 200W i/o the normal 500W. i knew tis is a good brand but it's also expensive lor.. saw the model GWC12 is quite good, it's selling at $798 which is above our budget (my mum oni sponsoring $600 leh), so i told my hubby to pay $198 himself. deal.gif we've gotten an additional $20 off coz we didn't wan the free gift (Tuscano organizer set), so the final price was $778. had wanted to arrange for tis sat delivery but they oni deliver 5-7pm for sengkang area. i got bridal shop appointment, so changed the delivery to 02june which is the following sat. can't wait to see my washing machine!!

haf decided to engage WINK to do up my MBR wall.. will be using their WINKTailor service, haf chosen the picture Lotus which was featured on 05May The Straits Times - Life Section. as compared to wallpaper, tis is definately much more affordable at oni $288. i haf put down a 30% deposit today. tongue.gif

here's the visualisation for the left side of the wall and the right side of the wall (the painting works on the right is not beri good due to the patching up of groove lines). haf decided to do it on the left side liao coz aft comparing, it really looked much better on the left than right.

the installation will be done on sat (02june) at 10am. sport-smiley-004.gif

i've just bought a Scense mini washing machine. dancingqueen.gif
it's for my own private use (next time can also wash baby's clothes)
coz my hubby said cannot mix my underwear with his in the washing
machine. bought it fm a forummer in SingaporeBrides.com forum for $100
(u.p. $230) deal.gif and brand new some more. it was supposed to be gift for her fren who had gave birth but the fren moved to Australia.

last
time when i first saw it, i did not buy coz i find $230 is too much
liao. pay abit more can get a normal washing machine liao. now $100 is
such a good deal dribble.gif and coz of my hubby, i got an excuse to buy it. notti.gif
there are three colours available but too bad the one i bought is
white, i would prefer the white+pink one. hmm, such a good deal n i'm
still complaining abt the colour. tongue.gif can't wait to use it at my nest.

today
the painter came to touch up my MBR box-up wall, HHS feature wall and
balcony box-up coz last week the painting work really CMI. the
contractor from CityGas also came to turn on the gas (fix the gas tube
to the hob). he beri funni lor, take out the drawer below the hob but
dunno how to put it back. bottom.gif
i muz ask ID to get his carpenter to com n put it back. i tried doing
it myself juz now but the drawer too heavy for mi to carry.

i'm
finally happy with the end result of my reno, not sure if my hubby
tinks the same. the oni thing i dun really like is my HHS feature wall.
but bo pian coz we already spent too much on the reno liao. i shall
make do with it since it looked alrite la.. maybe after some time i'll
start to like it again.

if hubby is satisfied after the final
check on monday, we shall ask ID to handover our nest liao. the place
is real dusty even after the final wash on monday. i wonder how many
weeks we need to take for the nest to be real clean! after dat we'll
get the prayer altar n 'invite' the Goddess of Mercy (GuanYin-Ma) to
reside (nt sure if tis is the correct word to use) in our nest. we r
targetting to move in b4 the lunar 7th mth coz we shall be busy with
our wedding preparations after dat.

shall post pictures again after the official handover. yamseng.gif

i
was complaining about my organza curtains earlier... tink it looked
abit cheapo and not up to my expectation. maybe i'm juz too fussy liao.

Frankie showed mi a few organza materials, all need to top up extra. fm $200++ to $600++ jawdrop.gif
i dun tink i can squeeze out so much for a new organza curtain. my
budget oni up to $200 at most and not a single cent more. maybe after
wedding then got more budget for curtains. maybe i'll check if the
curtain shop at AMK Ind Park 1 recommended by variety show Thriftking
to see if i can make new organza curtain within my budget.

anyway,
here are two of the materials Frankie showed by on sunday. i really
like the first one alot but it's freaking expensive. deal.gif
managed to bargained the price to $480 but needs serious consideration
lor. i asked my hubby and he said NO NO straightaway after hearing the
price. he said if i really wanted it muz pay myself lor. bottom.gif tis house not mine alone lor.

tis
two pictures are the same organza. there are two layers in different
colour and in between the 2 layers is strings for 3D effect. i simply
LOVE it at first sight but too expensive. deal.gif

my 2nd and cheaper option, but still cost $200+++.

now in a headache for the curtains liao.

went
up to my nest on sunday to check the touch-ups done the day b4. at the
same time, i've made appointment with Frankie from Shop8 to bring down
some organza material coz i dun like the current one, also got
appointment with the Cisco guy to discuss on the security system.

after
checking, the carpentry work confirm ok liao but not the painting works
lor. the painters either missed out on some areas or didn't do a very
good job.

i haf feedback to ID to get the painter come for
another round of touch-ups tis sat. i shall supervise them tis time
round. not purposely go down to supervise them one la, is coz SP
Service coming down to turn on the gas.

HHS feature wall not
painted properly, can see a line pertruding lor. dunno izit the
plastering work not done properly b4 the painting. bangwall.gif the painter forgot to touch up my service yard wall crying.gif
IPB Image

my MBR toilet vanity solid top and sink kenna white paint crying.gif
IPB Image

downlight above the HHS door also kenna white paint crying.gif
IPB Image

tv feature wall with LCD bracket, the wall paper still missing.
IPB Image

actually
the balcony box-up also not up to expectation coz it was not plastered
b4 being painted. i can still see the raw surface of the wood used but
i forgotten to take a picture of it. bangwall.gif

outcome
of Cisco appointment.. we've decided to sign-up for 3yrs contract for
SafeHomePlus at $52.45/mth with GST included. need to pay extra $126
for an additional wireless contact. so far i see the whole of 3rd floor
in my block, nobody installed security system.. but i rather be
kiasu+kiasi coz my neighbours all close-door policy. even if open door,
once they spotted someone walking by, the door will be closed within
10seconds. so scared people look into their house. in tis kind of
situation, can't imagine if really got a break-up coz no one will
notice. moreover, my unit is next to the staircase. at my sis's place
(where i'm staying now), all her neighbours open door big big one and
know each other one lor. i need tis kind of neighbours!!

hmm,
maybe tis sat i'll schedule Singtel to come and connect the telephone
line coz the Cisco system needs to be connected to telephone point. deal.gif haven even move in already got so many bills to pay liao.
