CNY is round the corner.. in fact juz another 2 days away.. time to clean n spruce up our home!!

btw, our place is officially 1yr old yesterday considering we have gotten our keys on 03feb07. how time flies... i koe our cluster is actually abt 7-8yrs old though..

our new organza curtains is finally here.. with folds here n there coz it was kept too long in the plastic bag.

wanted to get the steam iron out to steam the folds off but my hubby said no need.. hope it'll be better in a few days time.

actually we had come CNY decor also, but i forgotten to take the pics as i was too engrossed with the new curtains n fake flowers.

out goes the cheapo n ugly white organza, nw replaced with double layered organza curtains with strings inside.

finally ordered the curtains which i've been eyeing for since may

was in a dilemma earlier if i shd call the curtain company Shop8 where i ordered the curtains during my reno. they had quoted me $600+ for the two layer organza curtains with strings and later reduced it to $480 after much bargaining. but i did not order in the end coz i find it so expensive.

was at tiong bahru plaza tis evening with my sister as i had to go to PSB Academy to register for re-exam.. happened to pass by some road show stalls... there were tile-refurnishing, furniture, painting and curtain stalls. so i juz tried my luck n ask the owner at the curtain stall if he has the organza curtain i wanted. i have asked so many other curtain shops n they dun haf it.

was simply estastic when he said they do have the organza curtain i wanted!

so i quickly asked how much it'll cost for a five-panel window length. he said it was $390

$90 cheaper than the price quoted fm Shop8!!! i dun even haf the confidence dat Shop8 will offer me back the discounted price of $480 again. die die muz order liao

immediately placed the order and put down a $100 deposit. gonna call them next mth to com up for measurement so dat the curtains will be ready in time for the coming CNY. forget to mention, the shop name is Grand Art Contracts & Furnishings, their showroom is at Bt Batok.

am in such a happy mood now!!

haf decided to engage Q'zin Food and Management Pte Ltd for my house-warming party buffet on 16Sept.

we'll be inviting around 70 frens n relatives, do ur tink ordering for oni 40pax is enough? i understand that usually people dun really eat alot at buffets lor... we dun wan to be stuck with lotsa leftover food. moreover, some invited guest may not be able to attend.

some latest updates of my lovenest... dunno when's the next time i'll update here liao coz all the furnitures are finally in.

let me vent my anger 1st.. today my MIL arranged for a plumber to com over n install some additional bathroom accessories. he was supposed to com at 10.00-11.00am, but nv appear.

my MIL came over at 11.00am+ coz she wanna help us bargain for a lower price. ur may be wondering y i nv ask my ID's plumber to do it instead.. reason is ID's plumber wants to charge us $80 for the installation. both hubby n i, plus my MIL tinks it's ridiculous to pay $80.

at 12.00pm+, MIL called the plumber n he said he was at AMK, can oni come 2.00pm+. fine fine.. but hor, he still nv appear lor. so my hubby called him tis time round, he said he's at sengkang liao, couldn't find our blk. guess wat, he tot we were staying at blk D (no such blk) when both hubby n MIL told him was blk B.

at 3.00pm+, he finally appeared, but no toolbox in hand. where got plumber com n install things nv bring tools wan. he asked me wat i wanna install n where to install, so i showed him n he mark down the places. my MIL kept on asking does he koe which walls cannot drill coz we dun have those coloured masking tapes showing where got gas n water pipes, etc. he said he koe n will go down n bring tools. waited more than 30mins, he nv came back!!!!

MIA, siao liao lor. MIL called him, he said his worker hurt his hand, muz bring to see doc, so will come over on wed instead. MIL told him see how but we'll not use him liao. siantao!! where got so coincidence wan. i waited for him for more than 1/2day lor, heng i was also waiting for other deliveries, else really waste of my precious time! called my classmate's hubby who said he'll help us find a plumber. tink maybe i'll call my BIL to ask his neighbour (also a plumber) to do the installation instead. super sian!!!

my Serta Michigan has finally been delivered today.. but still cannot sleep on it until the aircon prob has been solved.. now the mattress is still in the plastic coz we dun it to be dusty should the aircon trunking be required to take down n re-do again.

got a bench, serta sheep, 2 pillows n a mattress protecter FOC. i had the bench done up in another colour coz it's gonna be located in the living room. my MBR has no space for it lor. was given the whole number for the Serta sheep, i requested for No.22, they gave me No.2!!!

looking at my MBR, now really left a super small walking space nia. i voiced out to my hubby actually i wanted to hack the bedroom 2 wall n combine it with MBR. but coz he said no hacking, i nv tell him abt it. deni i told him if we were to hack the wall and combine the rooms, i would haf preferred the bed in bedroom 2 together with a small study area den the MBR will haf built-in wardrobe n cosy/entertainment corner. i will den turn the study room into a guest room instead. hubby listened n nod his head in agreement but i told him all too late liao, coz our reno already completed.

btw, we were having some probs with our hamburger lights in the kitchen. it kept dropping down despite been put back a couple of times. found out dat it was due to a manufacturing fault. we bought them from Designer Lightings earlier n they came by to change it with another design of hamburger lights.
